friends & film

This road trip to Etretat was a much-needed retreat to an otherwise very difficult time of year for me. A friend from London travelled across the pond to visit me and my partner for a long weekend just before starting her new job in the big city. I had been dying to show her one of my favourite places in France, Etretat. Something about the rocky beach, the white cliffs, and the spectacular views remind me of my first home in France, Annecy. While Etreat doesn’t have mountains, it does have that height from the cliffs that evokes nostalgia for my brief time spent in the French Alps.

This set features many photos of Lindsay, a friend who has supported my photography journey from the beginning and is always willing to be my model to help me practice posing, composition, and other skills. She is a gem, and when I received these scans in my email, I had one of those rare excited moments a film photographer experiences when they see their photos and feel the utmost joy and pride in their work.

These images were taken on a roll of 35mm Kodak Ultramax 400 with my trusty Minolta SRT 101, and they feature a variety of landscapes, beachy street photography, and, of course, portraits. Enjoy!
